Masala Chai, Organic Fair Trade Black Tea

Aromatic masala (Indian spices) are added to our select shade-grown Assam to make a full-favored and robust spiced Chai (tea). Masala Chai has been the Indian drink of choice for hundreds of years. It is a perfect blend of fresh Indian spices like cloves, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and black pepper.

Reputed Health Benefits: Black tea has a high content of the antioxidant T-F2 which has shown in studies done at Rutgers University to slow down cancer growth. Black tea also helps prevent tooth decay, acts as an arthritis soother, and helps burn fat. Cardamom cleanses the urinary tract and aids in relief from flatulence. Ginger root alleviates high blood pressure. Cloves are high in Vitamin C, K, and dietary fiber. They are a good source of calcium and magnesium and are an effective anti-fungal. Cinnamon regulates blood sugar. Black pepper supports the immune system. All of the above Spices lower LDL cholesterol lowering the chance of heart disease, stimulate digestion, have ant-inflammatory effects, and increase circulation.

Ingredients: Organic Assam, Organic cardamom, Organic ginger root, Organic cinnamon, Organic clove and Organic black pepper

Brewing Instructions: Steep 2 Tablespoons per 12oz cup at 212 degrees (boiling) for 5-7 minutes. Sweeten and add milk to taste.
